Terms of use

The rules for using LGBTQ Prime: listings, reviews, claims, and the open data we build on.

These terms are the agreement between you and LGBTQ Prime when you use lgbtqprime.com. They are written to be read. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. The safety policy, content standards, and privacy policy are part of these terms.

Who we are

LGBTQ Prime is operated by Mark Latture, trading as WebDaVinci, [postal address to be completed]. It is part of the Prime network with lgbtprime.com (news).

Using the site

  • The directory is free to browse. You need an account to review, tag, submit, or claim.
  • You must be at least 18 to create an account. Some listings describe adult venues.
  • Keep your login to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Do not scrape, bulk-download, or copy the directory, and do not use it to build a competing database. Use the public API within its limits instead.
  • Do not try to break, overload, or get around the security of the site.

Listings

  • Listings are information, not endorsements. We work to keep them accurate, but hours change and places close. Check with the business before you travel.
  • Anyone can suggest a new place or an edit. Submissions are moderated, and we decide what is published, including how a place is categorized and tagged.
  • We may label, edit, hide, or remove any listing, including for safety reasons in restricted countries, without notice.
  • Links to booking sites and business websites leave LGBTQ Prime. We are not a party to any booking or purchase you make there, even when we earn a commission from it.

Reviews and other contributions

  • You keep ownership of what you write and upload. By posting it, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, adapt (for example, resize a photo or translate a review), and distribute it on LGBTQ Prime, the Prime network, and our API, for as long as it stays on the site.
  • You confirm that your contribution is honest, based on your own experience, and that you have the right to post it.
  • Contributions follow the content standards. We may moderate, refuse, or remove anything that does not.
  • Reviews express the opinion of their authors, not of LGBTQ Prime.

Claiming a listing

  • Only claim a business you own or are authorized to manage. We verify claims through the business's website domain or listed phone number, or by manual review.
  • A claimed listing lets you edit details, add photos and events, reply to reviews, and accept or reject suggested tags. It does not let you remove honest reviews or hide factual information such as a closure.
  • Claiming is free. If we introduce paid features, they will be optional and described separately before you pay anything.
  • We may revoke a claim that was obtained with false information, or when a listing is used to break these terms.

Events and Prides

Event and Pride information is submitted by organizers and the community. Dates marked "expected" are not confirmed. Organizers can claim their Pride page the same way businesses claim listings.

Open data and attribution

Parts of the directory, including many business locations and details, come from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, and are available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Where our database is a derivative of OpenStreetMap data, the relevant parts are made available under the ODbL on request, as the license requires. We record the source of imported data, and we keep OpenStreetMap-derived data separable from our own additions.

Map tiles are provided by our map tile provider under its own terms, with the attribution shown on each map. Place and Pride data may also come from Wikidata, available under CC0.

The design, text, and structure of LGBTQ Prime, and data we or our contributors create, are protected by copyright and, in the EU, by database rights.

Liability

We provide the site as it is and cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We are not liable for decisions you make based on a listing, review, or event, or for what happens at a place you visit. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body, or health, or your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time from Account, Privacy. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and we will tell you why unless doing so would put someone at risk.

Changes and law

We may update these terms. We will post changes here with a new date, and give account holders notice before material changes take effect. These terms are governed by German law, without depriving consumers of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where they live. [Place of jurisdiction and dispute resolution notice to be completed after legal review.]
